My Background
I graduated from Hofstra University School of Law in 1994 and was admitted to practice that same year at age 28. I immediately focused on criminal defense and DWI defense, and I’ve never looked back.
Over the past 31 years, I’ve handled every type of criminal case you can imagine. First-time DWI arrests. Repeat felony offenders. Violent crimes. Drug cases. Sex offenses. Domestic violence. White collar crimes. Every case is different, and every client deserves aggressive, personalized representation.
I’m admitted to practice in:
- New York State Courts
- U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York
- U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York
Professional Memberships
I’m an active member of:
- Nassau County Bar Association
- Suffolk County Bar Association
- National College for DUI Defense (NCDD)
The National College for DUI Defense is a professional organization dedicated to the improvement of criminal defense representation in DUI and DWI cases. Membership reflects my commitment to staying at the forefront of DWI defense strategies and scientific evidence challenges.
My Approach to Criminal Defense
I don’t take cases lightly. When you hire me, I’m not just showing up to court to go through the motions. I’m building a defense strategy from day one.
Investigation: I review every piece of evidence. Police reports. Dashcam footage. Bodycam video. Witness statements. Breathalyzer calibration records. Discovery materials. I’m looking for weaknesses, inconsistencies, and constitutional violations.
Motion Practice: If the police violated your rights, I file motions to suppress evidence or dismiss charges. I’ve won complete dismissals this way.
Negotiation: I leverage my relationships with prosecutors to negotiate favorable outcomes when possible. Reduced charges. Alternative sentencing. ACDs that leave you with no criminal record. I know what’s possible in each courthouse.
Trial: When prosecutors won’t negotiate fairly, I take cases to trial. I’ve secured NOT GUILTY verdicts in cases where other attorneys said there was no chance. I’m not afraid to fight.
Why Long Island Experience Matters
Nassau County prosecutes cases differently than Suffolk County. The Hamptons have their own unique court culture. Long Beach City Court operates differently than Hempstead First District Court. Northport Village Court meets on Monday nights. Amityville Village Court meets on Tuesday nights.
Attorneys from outside Long Island don’t know these nuances. They don’t know which prosecutors have discretion to negotiate and which ones don’t. They don’t know which judges are tough on first offenders and which ones focus on rehabilitation. They don’t know the court personnel or the unwritten rules.
I do. I’ve been practicing in these courthouses for over 31 years. That local knowledge gives my clients an edge.
